NIPR president ,Rotimi Oladele commends NAMA on excellent service delivery


The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has lauded the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) for the high level of professionalism and robust technical capacity which the agency has brought to bear on its service delivery in the aviation sector.

The National President and Chairman of Council, NIPR, Dr Rotimi Oladele  who made these remarks when he led a high powered delegation of the institute on a courtesy visit to NAMA headquarters in Lagos noted that  “the visible changes taking place in the agency in terms of acquisition and deployment of hi-tech navigational infrastructure and development of human capital is indicative of a focused and dynamic leadership determined to drive NAMA as a leading Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP) in the world.”

He therefore appealed to the Federal Government to give NAMA “100% support in terms of funding of capital projects and training of manpower to enable the agency deliver on its strategic mandate of managing the safety and security of the nation’s airspace.”

While commending NAMA for what he referred to as a ‘’robust succession structure within the system,” Dr Oladele solicited more work synergy and team spirit among the various departments of the agency to make for “a harmonized and focused service delivery system,” stressing that NIPR was ready to partner with the agency in the areas of training of Public Affairs personnel and streamlining its service delivery structure for better results.

The NIPR boss also used the opportunity of the visit to announce that the council of the institute has approved the investiture of NAMA Managing Director, Engr. Ibrahim Abdulsalam, as “an Ordinary Fellow of the institute for proving himself as a reputation manager and team builder.”

In his remarks, Engr.  Abdulsalam thanked the institute “for identifying with the modest achievements of NAMA in sustaining the gains of air safety in the country.” He recalled that the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations over the years has carved a niche for itself as corporate organization that strives for integrity, professionalism and excellence, adding that NAMA was ready to collaborate and build a strategic partnership with the institute in areas of mutual interest, such that would enable the agency to improve on its service delivery capacity.

He noted that as a service organization, NAMA under his administration was determined to train and equip staff with the latest technology and skills required to keep them up to speed with current trends in Air Navigation Service Provision, stressing that the agency would be glad to tap into the expertise of the NIPR in order to come up with new innovations that will make it more professional in meeting the needs of airspace users.

Air Traffic Controllers Suspend Warning Strike...In Crucial Meeting With NAMA Management

Normalcy has returned to the nation's airspace as  Air Traffic Controllers stepped down it warning strike which informed spacing of traffic flow by 20 minutes at four major airports in Lagos,Abuja, Portharcourt and Kano. The  suspension,according to a statement signed by the Managing Director of the Agency , Capt. Fola Akinkuotu is to allow " for a follow-up meeting between NAMA management, Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the Association, scheduled to hold later today".  Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) reassured airspace users and the general public that the Nigerian airspace remains safe for seamless and economic air travel.  The agency expressed regret over streaks of  inconveniences caused earlier today by the warning strike. ABUJA RUNWAY AND ITS MANY TROUBLES

Runway 022, Abuja remains a night mare for the foreign airlines that frequently complaints about the rutted runway surface which has caused structural damage to under carriage of most aircraft on landing.
