NAMA ,THREE OTHER AGENCIES GET NEW BOARDS

President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday in Abuja, approved the composition and appointments of the Chairmen and members of the Governing Boards of three aviation  agencies.   The  agencies are the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMA).   A statement by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim  announced the appointment. Mr Olusola Oke, is the Chairman  NAMA Governing Board  , while Captain Kuti, C.J Udeh, Okwudili Uzoka, Amb Jerry Ugokwe, H.Z Abubakar, Lucky Umoru, Captain Megason,  Group Capt. John Yekorogha and A. Chukwuma are members.     FAAN is  chaired by Dr Dan Kure, while Onuora Chinwe Leticia, Halima Hassan Tukur, Ngozi Lavender, Farouk Gumel, Amobi Nwokafor, Clement Dosunmu, Iboro Edabalge, Muneer Bankole, Henry Unaeze, Dr Al Amin, Patricia Ntofon and Niyi Agbola are  members. "We don't crash planes "- NCAA ...debunks newspaper report The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority(NCAA) has debunked reports in a local medium insinuating that the Authority was responsible for the last two plane crashes in the country. It said that the report was calculated smear campaign meant to cast assertion on the hard earned reputation of NCAA. Yuletide:NAMA handles over 1,900 flights at Lagos Airport

Yuletide: NAMA handles over 1,900 flights Over 1,900 flights operated through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos during the just concluded festive season. According to the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), a total of 170,749 passengers  were ferried in and out of the airport during  the period spanning between Monday December 23, 2013 and Tuesday ,December 31. The agency handles an average of 550 flights daily across the nation’s airports apart from the low level flight operations in the Niger Delta area. Traffic peaked on Monday, December 23 when the airport recorded 289 flights , ferrying 25,184 passengers while on Tuesday, Christmas eve, 262 flights operated flying 23,625 passengers. Expectedly on the Christmas day, the traffic trimmed to 105 flights , flying only 10,772 passengers. NAMA USHERS IN NEW YEAR WITH PRAYERS The management and staff of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) were in a spiritual frenzy on Thursday, the 2 nd of January, 2014 as the agency organized its first national prayer session to usher in the new year. The prayer sessions which were held simultaneously at 26 airports across the country featured reading of the scriptures and words of exhortation to encourage staff on the need to re-dedicate themselves to the service of God and humanity. Leading the prayer session at NAMA headquarters in Lagos, the Managing Director of NAMA Engr. Mazi Nnamdi Udoh, who was reading from Psalm 58, charged the staff to be desirous of good things they could muster to change the face of the agency while performing their duties during the year.
