Marshall to Become Acting Vice President for Global Programs  The Flight Safety Foundation announced today that Greg Marshall has joined the headquarters in Virginia as the new Acting Vice President for Global Programs. He will start in this role on September 2, 2014.   Mr. Marshall has worked as the Director of the Flight Safety Foundation's Basic Aviation Risk Standard (BARS) program in the Melbourne office since 2010. In that role, he has overseen the dramatic growth and evolution of the BARS program into the leading audit standard for the mining and resources segment of the industry.   "Bringing Greg to the home office to help during this transition will allow for great synergy between the BARS program and the other technical programs that the Foundation does," stated FSF President and CEO, Jon Beatty. "We have a proud tradition of technical work improving aviation safety and Greg's arrival will ensure that this continues and expands."  

Boeing Celebrates Delivery of Royal Jordanian's First 787 Dreamliner

  787 will be key to airline's fleet modernization plans, enhanced passenger experience  Royal Jordanian today celebrated the delivery of the airline's first 787 Dreamliner. The airplane will play a central role in the Amman -based airline's strategic plan for fleet modernization. Royal Jordanian acquired this airplane through leasing company AerCap. Arik Air signs MoU with Emirates on passenger interlining.

  Nigeria's leading carrier ,Arik Air and Emirate have entered into a partnership to sustain mutual and economic growth .     A press statement issued  in Lagos announced that both carriers airlines have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop and expand  existing commercial relationship and explore further areas of co-operation. Emirates and Arik Air currently have a one-way interline agreement, whereby Emirates passengers are connected throughout Nigeria and West Africa via Arik Air’s network. NAMA MD PARLEYS PROFESSIONALS ON EFFECTIVE SERVICE DELIVERY

                                                                   NEWSUPDATE   The Managing Director, Engr. Ibrahim Abdulsalam has solicited the support and cooperation of professional associations in the agency’s drive towards efficiency and professionalism in service delivery. Engr. Abdulsalam who made this plea during an interactive session with professional associations including representatives of NATCA, AISAN, NAAE, NACAN and NAPA, on Friday at NAMA headquarters in Lagos said such a working synergy had become critical in view of the crucial role played by the various professionals in the overall safety portfolio of the agency. The NAMA boss, while giving a rundown of his stewardship in the past five months also pointed out that management had put in place modalities for the payment of staff arrears while other welfare and professional issues are also being vigorously tackled,   stressing that training and retraining of personnel would remain a top priority

NAMA workers shelves strike action

                  Workers of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) have resolved to shelve embarking on strike today( Monday ) following amicable resolution of  welfare  issues between the management and labour union leaders.   The resolution to this effect was jointly  signed  at the weekend in a communique  by union leaders from NUATE,ATSSSAN, NAAPE, AUPCTRE, and top management staff of the agency led by the Director Human Resources, Dr.Uwem Akangson.   The management agreed to phase the payment of arrears of the consolidated salary structure starting with staff on level 06 who are expected to be paid on or before August 8,2014 . The managing director of the agency, Engr.Ibrahim Abdulsalam, assured air travellers that flights will operate across the nation's airports this morning without any disruption.

NAMA MD LOSES FATHER INLAW… fidau prayer held on Sunday The 8 th day Fidau prayer for the repose of the soul of Alhaji Rasheed Olatidoye Durodoye who slept in the Lord on the 26 th of July, 2014 was held on Sunday, the 3 rd of August, 2014. The event which attracted people from all walks of life took place at the playground of Government Technical College, Osogbo. In attendance were family members, friends and political associates. Expectedly, some NAMA officials including top management staff were on hand to support the MD and his family. Engr. Abdulsalam who appreciated the turnout of staff even without prior notice apologized to the entire workforce for not publicizing the event which he attributed to sudden unanticipated logistic reasons.
