Arik Air signs MoU with Emirates on passenger interlining.

Nigeria's leading carrier ,Arik Air and Emirate have entered into a partnership to sustain mutual and economic growth .

A press statement issued in Lagos announced that both carriers airlines have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop and expand existing commercial relationship and explore further areas of co-operation.Emirates and Arik Air currently have a one-way interline agreement, whereby Emirates passengers are connected throughout Nigeria and West Africa via Arik Air’s network.

The MoU , according to the statement ,was signed yesterday in Dubai by Adnan Kazim, Emirates Divisional Senior Vice President, Planning, Aeropolitical and Industry Affairs, and Chris Ndulue, Arik Air’s Managing Director, at the Emirates Group Headquarters .

“Both Emirates and Arik Air have expressed interest in exploring ways to expand on our existing commercial relationship and to look at different areas in which we can cooperate that will be mutually beneficial to both airlines, including seamless connectivity for our customers on our respective networks.
''We also intend to explore the potential of code share arrangements as passenger traffic flows mature between both parties’ networks,” said Mr Kazim

Qatar Airways in Hot Water: NCAA Accuses Airline of Disregarding Nigerian Laws

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has slammed Qatar Airways with serious allegations of disregarding Nigerian passengers and aviation laws . According to NCAA Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu ,Qatar Airways had repeatedly violated regulations, notably in an incident involving a Nigerian couple traveling to the US via Doha . Air Traffic Controllers Suspend Warning Strike...In Crucial Meeting With NAMA Management

Normalcy has returned to the nation's airspace as Air Traffic Controllers stepped down it warning strike which informed spacing of traffic flow by 20 minutes at four major airports in Lagos,Abuja, Portharcourt and Kano. The suspension,according to a statement signed by the Managing Director of the Agency , Capt. Fola Akinkuotu is to allow " for a follow-up meeting between NAMA management, Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the Association, scheduled to hold later today". Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) reassured airspace users and the general public that the Nigerian airspace remains safe for seamless and economic air travel. ABUJA RUNWAY AND ITS MANY TROUBLES

Runway 022, Abuja remains a night mare for the foreign airlines that frequently complaints about the rutted runway surface which has caused structural damage to under carriage of most aircraft on landing.
