NAMA STRATEGIZES ON OPTIMIZING AIRPORT TELECOMS SERVICE



The Managing Director, Engr. Ibrahim Abdulsalam has held fruitful discussions with the management of Galaxy Backbone plc, an ICT infrastructure provider, targeted at optimizing telecoms service delivery at the nation’s airports. Engr. Abdulsalam who led a NAMA delegation to the Galaxy Backbone headquarters Tuesday in Abuja on a courtesy visit told his hosts that as the sole provider of telecoms services within the aviation environment, their mission was to strengthen the existing business relationship between the two organizations and also develop a strategic work plan that would enable NAMA continue to provide cutting edge telecoms services to Nigerian airports. The MD/CE of Galaxy Backbone, Mr Gerald Ilukwe in his remarks commended NAMA for guaranteeing the safety of the nation’s airspace, stressing that ‘’this collaboration would further boost NAMA’s record of efficiency and excellence in service delivery in Nigeria’’. Mr Ilukwe also led the NAMA team to inspect facilities such as the Primary Data Centre, Network Operations Centre and the Satellite Dish Farm.  

 

REVIEW OF NAMA ACT: LA CALLS FOR SUBMISSION OF INPUT

The chairman of the committee on the review of NAMA Act and Legal Adviser, Mrs Anastasia Gbem has called on directorates who are yet to submit their input to do so as the committee would soon round off its sittings. Mrs Gbem who stated this on Friday shortly after the committee meeting at NAMA headquarters in Lagos stressed that there was the need for all directorates in the agency to make their input available to the committee and on time, in order to give the final document a holistic outlook.

 

PRINCE ADEYEMI TAKES CHARGE AS FMT,FAAN, NCAA, NAMA & AIB COOP PRESIDENT

The newly elected officials of FMT, FAAN, NCAA, NAMA AND AIB Co-operative Multipurpose Society on Thursday took over the reins of leadership from the out-gone executive of the organization. In his valedictory speech at a brief ceremony which took place at the Co-operative Secretariat, Beesam, Ikeja Lagos, the out-gone President, Engr. Stanley Da’Silva thanked members for their support and co-operation during his tenure which saw to the modest achievements he recorded, leading to the current enviable status of the society. He listed their achievements to include acquisition of buildings and acreages of land for members and overall fiscal discipline of his administration which has repositioned the society towards profitability. Also in his brief remarks, the in-coming President, Prince Adeyemi Joel solicited the support of members in his quest to build on the laudable achievements of his predecessor.

U.S. Aerospace Industry generates 1.2 million jobs...nets $118.5 billion export sales

  In 2012, the U.S. aerospace industry contributed $118.5 billion in export sales to the U.S. economy.  The industry’s positive trade balance of $70.5 billion is the largest trade surplus of any manufacturing industry and came from exporting 64.3 percent of all aerospace production. ARAP STEERING COMMITTEE SUBMITS REPORT ...AS CHIDOKA LAUDS NAMA FOR CREATION OF PMO _THE steering committee of the Aviation Revenue Automation Project (ARAP), inaugurated for the purpose of driving the full automation of all activities in the aviation agencies on Monday submitted its report to the Honourable Minister, Chief Osita Chidoka in Lagos. Among the recommendations of the committee was the need to drive commitment and enforcement to ensure strict compliance by all stakeholders while chief executives of all agencies should be held responsible to ensure that all revenue lines are captured under ARAP platform; also that all agencies should be encouraged to establish the Project Management Office (PMO) as is the case with NAMA.
