NAMA TO DEVELOP STRATEGIC DISASTER RECOVERY CENTRE

In a bid to boost the nation’s preparedness   for emergencies, NAMA has concluded plans to develop a Strategic Disaster Recovery Centre for the provision of communication, surveillance and air traffic management to enhance uninterrupted services. When in place, the centre is equally designed to provide online real time information in the event of unforeseen contingency. The managing director, Engr. Ibrahim Abdulsalam, who made this disclosure during the 2014 Airspace Managers’ Forum which held in Minna Niger State noted that ‘’with the increasing growth in air traffic and the growing demand for air navigation services, there is the need for NAMA to deploy appropriate infrastructure and technology in order to enhance capacity in safety critical areas as well as Search and Rescue Coordination.’’ He lauded the Airspace Managers for their ‘’dedication to duty and ingenuity in managing the operational, technical, financial and administrative challenges’’ and also enjoined them to put safety first in all their considerations as the onus lies on them to ensure seamlessness and safety in the nation’s airspace. Earlier, Engr. Abdulsalam, accompanied by the 32 Airspace Managers in attendance, paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Niger State,   Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu (CON) where the governor was presented an award for his contributions to the safety of air navigation in the country.

NAMA MD CONGRATULATES LA ON LEADERSHIP COURSE

The Managing Director, Engr. Ibrahim Abdulsalam has congratulated the Legal Adviser, Mrs Anastasia Gbem on her successful completion of the Policy, Strategy and Leadership Course (PSLC15) which took place at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Plateau State. Engr. Abdulsalam in his remarks on Tuesday when Mrs Gbem presented him with the certificate from the institute commended the Legal Adviser for her forthrightness and commitment to her duties and also enjoined others to emulate her. The course brings together high caliber officers from different organizations across the nation to prepare them for leadership roles that would move their organizations forward. Meanwhile, staff of the Directorate of Legal Services, on Tuesday organized a party in honour of Mrs Gbem to mark her birthday which fell on the 28th of August, 2014 while she was away on official duty. The GM legal services Mrs Mary Musa at the event commended Mrs. Gbem for her inspiring leadership qualities and wished her many more years of service to humanity.

 

ADEROSOYE MAKES FINAL JOURNEY

The remains of Late Prince Adekanmi Philip Aderosoye were on Saturday laid to rest at his home town , Esa Oke, Osun State. The interment was preceded by a wake keep on Wednesday at NUATE Secretariat, Lagos, followed by traditional ceremonies at Esa Oke between Thursday and Friday. Aged 51, the late Aderosoye who was until his demise an AGM in Communications Department, NAMA headquarters died on the 28th of July 2014 and is survived by a wife and children.

Capt Mahmoud, Others Call for Overhaul of Obsolete Navigational Aids, Security at Nation’s Airports

 By LEO ALIGWO,Lagos  An Indigenous aircraft pilot, Captain Ahmad Mahmaoud has taken a strong look at the current state of nation’s 25 operational airports and called for thorough overhaul of obsolete navigational aids, installation of modern ones and improvement of security net work at the gateways to save lives and property. Alh.Ibrahim Idrisu, Former NAMA Director of Finance &Admin Is Dead

 Former Director of Finance and Administration, Nigerian Airspace Management Agency( NAMA),Alhaji Ibrahim Idrisu is dead. Idrisu , according to family sources died on Monday evening after a brief sickness. He  will be buried later today in his home town Agbede, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State. Until his death,he was a senior lecturer at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Lagos Campus and lately the Deputy Director, School of Business. Idrisu,while serving at NAMA was loved by all because of his humility, dedication to duty  and above all, accessibility to staff and the general public.
