Call for Papers Open Until October 16, 2015

The Flight Safety Foundation and Singapore Aviation Academy are pleased to announce the Call for Papers is open for theMarch 14-15, 2016 Maintenance and Engineering Safety Forum and March 17-18, 2016 Flight Operations Info Exchange. These two events are designed for aviation safety professionals from civil aviation authorities, air navigation service providers, airlines, maintenance, repair and overhaul organizations (MROs) and airports.

Air Traffic Controllers Suspend Warning Strike...In Crucial Meeting With NAMA Management

Normalcy has returned to the nation's airspace as Air Traffic Controllers stepped down it warning strike which informed spacing of traffic flow by 20 minutes at four major airports in Lagos,Abuja, Portharcourt and Kano. The suspension,according to a statement signed by the Managing Director of the Agency , Capt. Fola Akinkuotu is to allow " for a follow-up meeting between NAMA management, Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the Association, scheduled to hold later today". Full ATC Services Restored At MMIA As NAMA Deploys Mobile Tower

The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has successfully deployed a Mobile Control Tower at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, in a swift and strategic response to the recent fire incident that affected critical air-ground communication infrastructure at the old terminal. Speaking during the on-site inspection of the facility, the Director of Safety Electronics and Engineering Services, Engr. Terese Ihenacho noted that the deployment marked a significant operational milestone, highlighting NAMA’s resilience and unwavering commitment to ensuring the continuity of safe and efficient air navigation services in Nigeria’s busiest aviation hub. NAMA MOURNS AS FORMER MD ,MOHAMMED YUSUFU LAID TO REST A huge pall of grief has enveloped the entire NAMA family following the news early in the week that Alhaji Mohamed Yusufu, second Managing Director of the agency had passed on. The late Alhaji Yusufu who held sway as NAMA boss between 2001 and 2004 was born in Kogi State in 1948. He joined the then Nigerian Civil Aviation Department as an Air Traffic Controller in 1967 after graduating from the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) Zaria. By dint of hard work, commitment and dedication to duty, Alhaji Yusufu rose through the ranks to become a General Manager in 1995 and Managing Director/ Chief Executive of NAMA in 2001.
