MD/CE PERFORMANCE RATED HIGH IN 300 DAYS IN OFFICE
The administration of the current Managing Director/CE of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, Engr. Ibrahim Abdulsalam has been rated high for the giant strides and achievements recorded just 300 days in office. This was made known at an enlarged management meeting of the agency held last Monday in Lagos. Most speakers at the meeting lauded the managing Director for his silent revolution describing him as an agent of great change and a blessing to the agency. During this period, Engr. Abdulsalam, has purchased two shuttle buses to take workers particularly the Air Traffic Controllers to and from TRACON site, improved industrial relations, positive reports in the media, cordial relations with professional bodies and NCAT; allocation of 50 units of 2 bedroom flats in Abuja, reviving em-block payment, on-time payment of BTA and resolving diesel challenges, retreat for operational staff and JCC amongst other. Earlier on, Engr. Abdulsalam took management staff through all the latest happenings in the aviation sector including projects that have been completed and the on-going ones and the new direction of the Federal Ministry of aviation as regards the performance measurement and the need to be sending reports in line with the agenda set by the ministry.

NIGERIAN AIRFORCE COMMUNICATION PERSONNEL TOUR NAMA
As part of the learning process and human capital development for NAF personnel, some communication personnel, visited the navigational facilities of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos and the VOR equipment at Iju, Ogun state from Wednesday 19th-Friday 21st November, 2014. According to the leader of the delegation, Squadron Leader Hyginus Onyemaechi Nwaorgu noted that the communication officers from different units of the airforce were at NAMA to learn more practically what the officers had been taught theoretically so that they could get themselves acquainted with workings and functions of the navigational facilities at national airports.

NAMA HOSTS IKEJA ICAN DISTRICT SOCIETY
The Chairman of Ikeja District Society of ICAN, Mr. Oluseyi Ogunjobi FCA and other members of the Executive Committee were hosted by the management of the agency at the headquarter office on Friday 21st November, 2014.In his welcome address, the Managing Director, Engr. Ibrahim Abdulsalam gave a 100% pass mark to the society noting that its members in the agency are “representing the noble profession very well”. The elated and impressed Ogunjobi while responding assured the management of NAMA that “the visit will foster a good and enduring relationship which will ultimately create the platform required to explore areas of mutual benefits to both the agency and the district”.

NAAE CONFERENCE HOLDS IN ENUGU
The 32nd Annual General Meeting/Election of the National Association of Air Traffic Engineers (NAAE) will hold on Thursday 27th-Friday 28th November, 2014 with the theme “ATSEP COMPETENCY: Assuring the Safety of Nigerian Airspace” at the Nondon International Hotel, Enugu. The Special Guest of Honour at the occasion is the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Sullivan Iheanacho Chime and the Guest of Honour is the Minister of Aviation, Chief Ositadinma Benjamin Chidoka.

U.S. Aerospace Industry generates 1.2 million jobs...nets $118.5 billion export sales

  In 2012, the U.S. aerospace industry contributed $118.5 billion in export sales to the U.S. economy.  The industry’s positive trade balance of $70.5 billion is the largest trade surplus of any manufacturing industry and came from exporting 64.3 percent of all aerospace production. ARAP STEERING COMMITTEE SUBMITS REPORT ...AS CHIDOKA LAUDS NAMA FOR CREATION OF PMO _THE steering committee of the Aviation Revenue Automation Project (ARAP), inaugurated for the purpose of driving the full automation of all activities in the aviation agencies on Monday submitted its report to the Honourable Minister, Chief Osita Chidoka in Lagos. Among the recommendations of the committee was the need to drive commitment and enforcement to ensure strict compliance by all stakeholders while chief executives of all agencies should be held responsible to ensure that all revenue lines are captured under ARAP platform; also that all agencies should be encouraged to establish the Project Management Office (PMO) as is the case with NAMA.
