Arik commends NAMA over e-flight plan

Arik  Air, a leading domestic carrier in the country has  commended Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) over the implementation of  e- flight plan introduced early March ,2012 to ease operation in the air transport sector.
 The Aeronautical Information Service Flight Portal enables airline flight dispatchers to submit all flight plans without having to be physically present at the AIS unit of the agency.
In a letter to the Management of NAMA signed by Arik Operations Control Centre, Flight Dispatch Manager, Mr. Luis Pedro declared that “the system is working very well and we would like to congratulate NAMA for the implementation of such magnificent tool that has the ability to receive flight plan and almost immediately confirm if the flight plan was accepted or rejected”.


 Pedro, however suggested a dedicated telephone line to enable flight dispatchers contact the AIS officials to correct flight plans when error is detected.
The managing director of the agency, Engr. Mazi Nnamdi Udoh reacting to Arik’s  positive experience on the e-flight plan in Lagos on Thursday, said the agency would continue to strive for excellence in air traffic services.
‘’ I see this comment as a great endorsement of our services by an airline like Arik with large fleet of aircraft. We are working assiduously to constantly  improve   on air traffic services in the country and bring it to the global standard’’, the NAMA boss added.

Cameron welcomes new 50 million pound airside investment at Edinburgh Airpoort

Source: Edinburgh Airport Prime Minister David Cameron visited Edinburgh Airport this afternoon (22 January) as it announced a new £50m airside investment programme.
