MMIA Fire Outbreak: Flights Diverted * 7 Air Traffic Controllers,Others Evacuated * Fire watch room set up

Flights into Murtala Muhammed International- Terminal 1 are temporarily diverted following fire out break at a section of the building.
The cause of the fire out break is yet to be ascertained as the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) fire fighting personnel are making frantic effort to put the fire under control.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) confirmed the incident and provides an update on the fire outbreak at Terminal 1 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
According to FAAN ,emergency response operations are ongoing as firefighting teams continue efforts to fully contain and curtail the fire, while the orderly evacuation of passengers and airport personnel is in progress.
"To strengthen response efforts, FAAN has activated mutual aid arrangements and called for reinforcements from the Lagos State Government, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, and other relevant emergency agencies".
FAAN reassure the public that no loss of life has been recorded at this time, and all necessary measures are being taken to safeguard lives and property.
