Many passengers on Monday missed their flights at various terminals of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos following protest by the National Association of Nigerian Students(NANS).
The protest leading to blockade of the major road linking the terminal restricted vehicular movement ,making the entire airport environment chaotic.
This protest is coming almost a week after a similar showdown on Lagos -Ibadan Expressway to protest against the current industrial action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities.
Expectedly ,men of the Lagos State Police Command, and Airport Police Command moved swiftly to maintain law and order around the airport vicinity.
Some vehicles were used by the angry students to block roads linking the nation's premier gateway and this action has made vehicular movement in and out of the airport very difficult for travellers and other users.
The protesting students literally turned the point of blockade as a place of worship as they sang some christian songs seeking divine intervention.
The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, assured travellers that security had been beefed up at the airport since the NANS issued the threat last week.
