NAMA CROWNED BEST EXHIBITOR GOVERNMENT AGENCY AT 9TH ABUJA TRADE FAIR


NAMA has been conferred with an award as Best Exhibitor Governmental Agency at the just concluded 9th International Trade Fair organized by the Abuja Chambers of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture. The agency was selected out of 217 exhibitors that participated in the fair. Presenting the award to the Managing Director, Engr. Ibrahim Abdulsalam who was represented by Abuja ASM, Mr Nnana Ugbaga, the Vice President, Abuja Chamber of Commerce, Industry Mines and Agriculture, Gen. India Garba stated that ‘’the selection of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency was based on merit, as the agency surpassed all other government bodies in creating awareness and also positively projecting its activities and programmes to the general public’’. CADET ATCs BEGIN ON-THE-JOB-TRAINING
The newly graduated Cadet Air Traffic Controllers are to commence on-the-job training on Aerodrome and Approach Procedural Control this week at designated stations across the country.  In a brief meeting with management last week at NAMA headquarters in Lagos, the Managing Director, Engr. Ibrahim Abdulsalam charged the Cadet ATCs to uphold the tenets of excellence in service delivery which the agency is known worldwide for, adding that ‘’as new entrants into the big NAMA family, you must imbibe the virtues of hard work, dedication to duty and self discipline which have formed the plank of our quest to ensuring safety of air navigation in the country’’



DOTUN ONI, NAMA’S GM ADMIN BEGINS FINAL JOURNEY
The funeral rites of the late GM Admin, Mr Olufemi Adedotun Oni, have been released by the deceased family. According to the programme of events, there shall be a Christian keep in his honour on Thursday, 9th October, 2014 at the Ibadan Civic Center (ICC), 816 Agodi GRA Idi Ape- Iwo Road, Ibadan by 5pm prompt. Funeral service comes up on Friday 10th October 2014 at St Peter’s Church Aremo Road, Aremo, Ibadan by 10am prompt. Meanwhile, Management has directed all staff to turn out en masse and give our fallen colleague a befitting final honour.

U.S. Aerospace Industry generates 1.2 million jobs...nets $118.5 billion export sales

  In 2012, the U.S. aerospace industry contributed $118.5 billion in export sales to the U.S. economy.  The industry’s positive trade balance of $70.5 billion is the largest trade surplus of any manufacturing industry and came from exporting 64.3 percent of all aerospace production. ARAP STEERING COMMITTEE SUBMITS REPORT ...AS CHIDOKA LAUDS NAMA FOR CREATION OF PMO _THE steering committee of the Aviation Revenue Automation Project (ARAP), inaugurated for the purpose of driving the full automation of all activities in the aviation agencies on Monday submitted its report to the Honourable Minister, Chief Osita Chidoka in Lagos. Among the recommendations of the committee was the need to drive commitment and enforcement to ensure strict compliance by all stakeholders while chief executives of all agencies should be held responsible to ensure that all revenue lines are captured under ARAP platform; also that all agencies should be encouraged to establish the Project Management Office (PMO) as is the case with NAMA. Receiving the report, Chief Chidoka stated that “the power of automation especially in the dynamic world of aviation cannot be wished away as it would facilitate the one aviation vision and also set targets and measurable timelines”.
