UDOH HANDS OVER TO ABDULSALAM AS NEW NAMA MD

 


 


 
 
The newly appointed Managing Director/ Chief Executive of the Nigerian
Airspace Management Agency, NAMA, Engr. Ibrahim Abdulsalam has
formally taken over the helm of affairs of the agency from the
outgoing  Managing Director, Engr. Mazi Nnamdi Udoh , in a brief
ceremony that took place at NAMA headquarters , Lagos, on Thursday.

In his remarks at the event, Engr. Nnamdi Udoh charged management and
staff of NAMA to extend the same hand of fellowship and cooperation
which saw to the numerous accomplishments of his tenure to his
successor.

He recalled that in two years, he achieved several safety critical
feats including migration to area radar control, which could not have
been possible without the support and cooperation of the entire staff.

''I personally implore the staff to support the new managing director
who is one of us and professionally sound to handle the affairs of the
agency and take it to a greater height in the provision of quality air
navigation services'',Udoh counseled the workforce.

He therefore tasked all members of staff to take the survival of the
agency as very critical by rallying round the new Managing Director to
ensure the success of his tenure.

 Engr. Udoh, who congratulated his successor on his appointment, also
enjoined him to be strong and courageous by ensuring unity, equity,
love and progress in NAMA as a torchbearer of the organization.  The
former managing director, stressed that having worked with him over
time, he has implicit confidence in Engr. Abdulsalam, to be able to
consolidate and even improve on the present gains of NAMA in the
provision of a safe and seamless airspace in Nigeria.

In his remarks, the new Managing Director, Engr. Ibrahim Abdulsalami,
thanked his predecessor for ''the giant footprints'' he left in the
agency and for being a father to all during his tenure. He noted that
he is particularly happy that he would continue to draw from the rich
experience of Engr. Udoh, whom he described as a ''senior MD''.

While maintaining that ''the success of NAMA remains non-negotiable'',
he implored all staff to ensure continuity of the current gains of the
agency by being dedicated and professional in their duties, saying
that staff welfare shall continue to be the focal point of his
administration.

Air Traffic Controllers Suspend Warning Strike...In Crucial Meeting With NAMA Management

Normalcy has returned to the nation's airspace as  Air Traffic Controllers stepped down it warning strike which informed spacing of traffic flow by 20 minutes at four major airports in Lagos,Abuja, Portharcourt and Kano. The  suspension,according to a statement signed by the Managing Director of the Agency , Capt. Fola Akinkuotu is to allow " for a follow-up meeting between NAMA management, Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the Association, scheduled to hold later today".  Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) reassured airspace users and the general public that the Nigerian airspace remains safe for seamless and economic air travel.  The agency expressed regret over streaks of  inconveniences caused earlier today by the warning strike. ABUJA RUNWAY AND ITS MANY TROUBLES

Runway 022, Abuja remains a night mare for the foreign airlines that frequently complaints about the rutted runway surface which has caused structural damage to under carriage of most aircraft on landing.
