Middle East Crisis: FAAN Issues Travel Advisory

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria ( FAAN) has issued travel advisory to Nigeria travelling public that current closure of Airspace in some parts of the Middle East are presently affecting flight operations to and from the region. The travel advisory reads: “As a result of these developments,flights scheduled to the Middle East destinations from Nigerian airports, including Emirates and Qatar Airways have been cancelled or delayed. ” Passengers affected by these disruptions are strongly advised to contact their respective airlines directly for up – to – date information on flight status, rebooking options and further guidance”. FAAN says it will continue to monitor the situation in collaboration with relevant aviation authorities and airlines operators and will provide updates as necessary

MMIA Now Opens To Traffic- Kuku

The nation's premier airport ,Murtala Muhammed International Airport ,Lagos temporarily closed to traffic on Monday  few hours ago following the reported fire incident is now open to air traffic. A few foreign  inbound flights were diverted during the crisis,but with deployment of mobile tower by the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA),air traffic services have been restored at the airport with first flight departed about 7.20 p.m. Managing Director, Mrs Olubunmi Kuku disclosed during an interview  with the press that there were no fatalities, except  six people that sustained injuries during the incident. She confirmed that three international flights were diverted, including those operated by Emirates, British Airways and Lufthansa.   Flights into Murtala Muhammed International- Terminal 1 are temporarily diverted  following fire out break at a section of the  building. The cause  of the fire out break is yet to be ascertained as  the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN)  fire  fighting personnel are making frantic effort  to  put the fire under control. Boeing Receives Initial Qualification for 777-9 Training Devices

  Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) approve simulator devices for airline pilot training GATWICK, United Kingdom, Feb. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Boeing [NYSE: BA] 777-9 flight training simulators are one step closer to conducting regulator-approved pilot training after the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) issued simulator qualification certificates granting initial qualification.
