NAMA MD LAYS FOUNDATION FOR ULTRA-MODERN FMTA COOP-SHOWROOM 

THE Managing Director, Engr. Ibrahim Abdulsalam, on Thursday, performed the ground-breaking foundation laying exercise for the ultra-modern showroom of the Federal Ministries of Transport/Aviation, FAAN, NCAA, NAMA and AIB Co-operative Society at Beesam. The showroom which will afford members the opportunity to buy commodities, home appliances and other products from the co-operative society is one of the innovations by the present executive to cater to the needs of members. Speaking at the occasion, the President, Prince Adeyemi Joel, described the event as “historic, given that the cooperative has never had a showroom since its creation”. He noted that as one of his campaign promises, the ultra-modern showroom is the response to the yearnings and aspirations of members. Also speaking, Engr. Abdulsalam commended the initiative and promised that “NAMA as a staff-driven agency would support any effort targeted at improving the welfare of workers.”  

NAMA CONDUCTS CPDLC SITE SURVEY FOR DATA LINK CONNECTIVITY & IMPLEMENTATION


A critical milestone in the implementation of the Controller-Pilot Data Link Communication (CPDLC) project was attained last week with the Data Link Connectivity and implementation site survey for Kano and Lagos Area Control Centers (ACCs). The exercise was carried out by a team of SITA engineers in collaboration with NAMA officials. Similarly, a successful inspection was carried out on the last mile connectivity from SITA hub, Lagos to NAMALagos ACC by the team. The last mile connectivity has fibre and radio components for redundancy. The next task would involve the technical and operational training of personnel as well as Factory Acceptance Test (FAT).

UZOMA-FYNEBOY TAKES OVER AS ACTING DOO

Mr.  Felix Uzoma-Fyneboy last week took over from Mr. SegunOgunmola as Acting Director of Operations, in a brief ceremony which took place at NAMA headquarters complex in Lagos. Until his latest appointment, Mr Uzoma-Fyneboy, an experienced Air Traffic Controllerwith many ratings was the General Manager, Safety Management Service (SMS). In his remarks, the Managing Director, Engr. Ibrahim Abdulsalamenjoined staff of the directorate to accord the new Director the fullest co-operation so as to move the agency forward, just as he wished the retiring Director, Mr Ogunmola success in his future endeavours. Also speaking,Mr Uzoma-Fyneboy thanked the MD/CE for the opportunity given him to serve in his present capacity. He also solicited the co-operation of all staff in his quest to take the directorate to the next level.

Air Traffic Controllers Suspend Warning Strike...In Crucial Meeting With NAMA Management

Normalcy has returned to the nation's airspace as  Air Traffic Controllers stepped down it warning strike which informed spacing of traffic flow by 20 minutes at four major airports in Lagos,Abuja, Portharcourt and Kano. The  suspension,according to a statement signed by the Managing Director of the Agency , Capt. Fola Akinkuotu is to allow " for a follow-up meeting between NAMA management, Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the Association, scheduled to hold later today".  Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) reassured airspace users and the general public that the Nigerian airspace remains safe for seamless and economic air travel.  The agency expressed regret over streaks of  inconveniences caused earlier today by the warning strike.
